2016 Stuhlmuller Vineyard Chardonnay
The 2016 Stuhlmuller Vineyard Chardonnay is a lovely light golden straw in color. Aromas of baked apples, pear skin, lemon zest, fresh cream, toasted oak notes, hints of wet stone and a slight salinity round out a very complex and inviting wine. The mouth is rich, layered and full. Ripe flavors of pome fruits are accented by lemons, toasted oak and a creamy texture. The finish is accentuated through an upswing in the wine, provided by a nice acidity that brings balance and longevity to this age worthy beauty. Pair with a triple cream brie and a fresh baggett for a wonderful start to your next dinner party.
Stuhlmuller Vineyard is situated in the lower reaches of Alexander Valley where the three appellations of Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill converge. Recognized as one of Alexander Valley’s great Chardonnay vineyards, the Stuhlmuller Chardonnay vineyard has been planted on an ancient gravel river bed derived from the meandering flows of the nearby Russian River. This gravel bed contributes a mineral aspect in taste which marries well with the wine’s bright and rich floral aromatics.
